Dairy Technology Day at the UC Davis Mondavi Institute

On June 10, 2010, the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science (RMI) will hold Dairy Technology Day at the new UC Davis Conference Center. The conference includes welcome remarks by UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi, Dr. Neal Van Alfen, dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at UC Davis, and Dr. Joseph O’Donnell, executive director of the California Dairy Research Foundation.  Following opening remarks, presentations entitled “Enhancing Health Benefits with Pre- and Probiotics,” “Processing Technologies for Dairy Sustainability, Quality and Safety” and “Industry-UC Davis Partnerships: Where do we go from here?” will be held.  Also, Foods for Health Institute Director, Dr. Bruce German, will moderate a panel discussion on “UC Davis: New Opportunities through Research.”

Participants will enjoy a video presentation featuring the new Brewing and Food Science Laboratory, including the new Milk Processing Laboratory which is currently under construction. In addition, at the end of the conference, there will be a cheese reception for all attendees and speakers.
